In the wonderful Alpine world of the Gosau Valley you can enjoy your winter holidays in various splendid ways. Here again only a few suggestions in advance. It will be our pleasure to advise you in detail as a guest in our house.

Contemplative Advent
During the Christmas Season you can enjoy very special and pleasant experiences as there are, for example, cruises on Lake Hallstatt and visiting the Christmas markets in Hallstatt, Bad Ischl and St. Wolfgang.

Winter Hiking & Snowshoeing
Various ploughed winter walking paths are inviting you to explore the fascinating snowy scenery in a gentle and relaxed way. One of the most liked ways leads along the Gosau streamlet from Vordertal to Hintertal. Stepping into a pair of snowshoes and moving in intact nature is an experience of sublime delight. Snowshoes can be borrowed from the ski and snowboard rental shop in our neighbourhood. Upon request, our hiking guide Bettina will organize a guided snowshoe hike.


Tobogguning
The illuminated toboggan run “Gosauschmied” (2.5 km long) is a memorable experience for all generations. Every Friday you can participate in a torch-lit toboggan race with subsequent awards ceremony.

Horse-Sleighing
During holidays in the snow a romantic sleigh ride should not be missed. We can assist you to book a coach drawn by magnificent horses.

High in the air

  • Paragliding: Also in winter, the Gosau valley offers excellent conditions for paragliding and hang gliding.

  • Ballooning: If you are dreaming of a balloon trip – your desire could be fulfilled each year at the beginning of January when a Hot Air Balloon Week is held in Gosau. Competent balloonists offer memorable balloon pleasure flights at this occasion.

  • Salzkammergut Therme:  In Bad Ischl -  distance 26 km.

The ski area "Dachstein West" is Upper Austria's largest family ski area. Here you will find 140 km of slopes with guaranteed snow and all levels of difficulty:
