Look forward to delicious delicacies accompanied by musical entertainment and the hustle and bustle of the sheep farmers .
The sheep muster ("Lampömusterung") in Gosau offers unique impressions. The so-called "Ausschreier" announces in typical dialect the numbers on the ear tags of the sheep. Thus, the owners recognize that it is their sheep and take it to their barn for the winter.
This then sounds something like this:
"Im rechten vorn an Feling und hinten zwoa Schnitt" (in the right ear a half moon and behind two cuts).
It happens often enough that the sheep owners return home with less or even more sheep than they actually sent to the mountain pasture. But since this always evens out over the years, there are no quarrels about the sheep here.
